Alliance Leicester Question

Can I just check that this card allows you to pay money direct into your bank via the transfer cheques and that the fee for doing it would be £50 max. I need a new card soon and this could be the next. Also being MBNA I would expect a decent credit limit.

That's my understanding of the online T&C's, yes. However, check your own T&C's/credit agreement before proceeding.

That is correct the cheques arrive a few weeks later so factor that in to your time scale if your moving money between accounts.

I wouldn't rely on this - my Virgin cheques took 7 months to arrive last year!

However, there might be a way to 'hurry them along'...I got lost in the Virgin automated phone menu system recently and stumbled upon an option to 'order some cheques'. Maybe A&L et al have similar options?

Thanks for the replies. Another option is to use this cards to pay off my Egg Aniv offer which runs until May. I might grab a Mint card first and stick that into my current account. Then get A&L to pay off the Egg.
