My parents have had several calls from RICHARD FOX who is working for this company, offering to buy shares on their behalf in an oil company. When they hang up on him, he calls back again and again and again. My Dad asked him to send more information so he could look it over.
Today I answered the phone to him, and he tells me that my dad authorised him to buy 2,500 share on his behalf, and we now owe him £3,375. He then threatened with court action/debt collectors etc.
Apparently, the authorisation was verbal, and was recorded. I asked him for his Registered company number, and told him that we needed to hear the recording they had, and would not talk to him any further until he had emailed us the sound file, and we had spoken to our legal representative. He then threatened us with more legal action, so I repeated the request. He said that it would take several days, but he would do it.

I've since googled him, his company and discovered that this is a classic BOILER ROOM SCAM

An unregulated offshore financial organisation that uses high-pressure sales techniques to encourage UK private individuals to buy shares in high-risk companies at inflated prices.

Further digging with the Financial Services Authority show that this company is not registered with them, therefore are not authorised to sell any financial product, and according to the guy at the FSA "would get laughed out of court" as they acted illegally by calling us in the first place.

Hi there,
I have had 2 phone calls from some guy at Alpha secruities today who tried to sell me 20,000 shares in falconoilmanagement at £1.35 & said he expected them to go to £2.25!

It all sounded very iffy & I told him that I didn't do business this way, ie spending 1,000's after 2 phone calls & a letter-he said he would phone back in a couple of days.

So thanks for the info on this situation and the next time he calls i will tell him where to go-which I hope he is recording!
