Switch insurers and dry rot

I am planning on shopping around for cheaper buildings and contents insurance, but have a suspicion we might have dry rot, which (I know this is stupid) I would like to ignore for a while as I havve had a really rough time for the last few years and just want a break from any more hassle. Question is, if I switch insurers, when I do face up to pulling up the floorboards and having a proper look, will the switch in insurers affect any possible future claim in this regard??

Well, the rot is unlikely to be covered at all under any home insurance policy since it is a wear and tear issue - the damage is caused by a gradualy operating cause (the fungus).
It is not an insured peril under any household policy I have every seen (though of course I have not read them all!) and quite a few specificaly exclude issues around rot, mould etc in addition to wear and tear or gradualy opperating causes. Basicaly, I don't think there could be a valid insurance claim with this issue.0
