Hi All,
Im flying to NYC from LDN Heathrow, i have booked my train tickets to take me from devon to LDN. Our train gets into London Waterloo at around 23:00 on friday 13th march, we then need to get to Heathrow, which is the cheapest and most convienient way to get there?
Also, as our flight isn't until 8am on saturday morning, can we check in before 5am (the recommended 3 hrs before?) as we are going to be at the airport way before!
Thanks in advance
Kay

Get the Jubilee Line to Green Park, change for the Picadilly Line to Heathrow.
You will not have too much time to fluff around as the last Picadilly Line will leave Green Park approx 12.30.
If Jubilee Line is down get the Northern Line to Leicester Square, then the Picadilly Line to Heathrow.0 -
Check tube lines on www.tfl.gov.uk for engineering worksYeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0

You might be able to check in a little bit early (we did when we were going to Albania last year). If your train is delayed and you get in too late for the tube you can always get a bus; 139 or 176, up to Trafalgar Square and then get the N9 bus to to the Airport.Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0

Thanks all,
Lemmy- stupid question i know, but what time is the last bus? And also, which company runs the bus service? i may be able to buy tickets online?0 -
Again, bus times from www.tfl.gov.uk - Night buses have the same flat rates as regular buses, as well.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0

All three buses mentioned run throughout the night, though the 136 becomes the N136. The N9 runs every twenty minutes.Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0

Which route does your train take to get to Waterloo? If it stops at Woking there's an express rail-air bus that runs straight to the airport and will be much easier for you than going through London.
Is there any reason you've chosen the SWT route from Devon rather than FGW? If your ticket is valid on the Paddington route you can get a similar rail-air bus from Reading to Heathrow.0 -
Hi Omelette, yes we are travelling on the "megatrain" fare, which only goes to ldn waterloo, will check to see if it stops at woking, but im not too sure.
Will check trl for times, thanks all.0 -

It might vary according to terminal, airline and destination, but when I flew to Dar with BA from Terminal 5 I checked in at 2:30pm and my flight wasnt til 7:20pm. That was bag drop after checking in online.
