device installation error

I am trying to install a wan card in my daughters laptop Aa Dell Inspiron 1000. on a clean Win 2k install. the problem is it will not have it I get a message " start.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows, you will need to restart the program. an error log has been generated. I have tried the install on another PC and the install disc works fine. any ideas or advise and were can I access these error logs ?

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer is a good place to start.
Is the disc with the drivers on compatible with Windows 2000?0 -
yes the device is a Belkin wireless G notebook card and is compatible with Win 2000, and how do you interpret these logs"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
