Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can give me some advise.assistance.
I have a new Thermostat Shower fitted about 2 years ago when i renovated the house.
It is this one.
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/68087/Bathrooms-Showers/Showers/Mixer-Showers/Thermostatic/Triton-Umbra-Exposed-Thermostatic-Mixer-Shower#
However, it will not heat up now at all. Even at full heat the best you get it luke warm water:snow_grin . (The taps are fine so it's not the combi boiler.)
Is there anything that i can do to fix it??

Did you fit it yourself or get someone in? It says its got a 5 year guarantee so if there is a problem it should be fixed/replaced.0

Hi Thanks for that.
I didn;t actually realised that...I assumed it would be the normal 12 months..
I had the builders fit it when they did the extension to the bathroom. But they have since stopped working.
I will speak to screwfix and see if there is anything that can be done.
EDIT:-
Just called them and it would appear the 5 year guarantee came into effect in Septenber 2006...and i bought mine in JULY 2006 so only had a 12 month guarantee    BUG*ER:mad:   ...Why can't something just once work out in my favour....0 -
Anyone know if you can open these shoers and clean them.
That might resolve the issue!!0 -
These have filters built in to the connections. It's possible that the hot one is blocked. If you are confident, turn the water off and undo the nuts behind the valve itself. Slacken them alternately a bit at a time until it comes off the wall. The filters should then be visible on the back of the valve.0

Did you get an instruction manual?0

I use to have one...a manual that is...but it is 2 1/2 years old...not a clue where it is now.
Anyone got a link to one??
As for the filter being blocked...unlikly, the unit it self is very hot just dosn;t seem to flow into the outlet pipe.
a week ago when this first stsrted happening i took off the thermostat/temerature side of the tap off and turned it as far as possible to the hot side. Infact it use to get too hot i would have to adust the temp to cool it down.
After that diy fix it worked for about a week but now it's gone back to being tepid water again even if i turn the temprature valve to the hottest.
Definatly seems like the thermostat being faulty.
Is there anyway of Opening it and cleaning it at all???0 -
Sorry, second thoughts. Try taking the temperature control knob off and turning the knurled shaft with a pair of pliers. It may just be that the knob has slipped on the shaft and the valve itself is OK. If you can get the temperature OK, re-fit the knob and all should be OK unless it slips again.
Edit: Sorry, you beat me to it.0
