    Oh cool thanks.:money:
How do you go about it then?
Do the meters stay the same or does the new company have to install new ones?
I am currently on Scottish power/Manweb for both at the mo...what other campanies do good deals etc..
  • you decide a date to change over with them, sign a form, they send you stuff to take a reading or register your new payment card with the meter - shove it in the slot - and there yu go. just phone the company you want to change to and they pretty much do the rest.

Note that not all pre-payment meters keep an accurate tab on the cost of your energy - it's just usage that is accurate. If there has been a price change this may not be accounted for and you may have an outstanding balance to pay.

Ebico have been very good for gas pre-pay customers unless they were high users of gas.

    Their electricity is expensive.

I believe some companies are reducing the price of pre-pay to the same level as their standard tariffs. Still far from the best deals available, but at least an inprovement.
