  • We always travel the day before via Eurotunnel ( OH suffer from seasick) and stay in one of the hotels nearby like Holiday Inn / Kyraid / Novotel which u can book direct online.
Then u can move in your booked Disney hotel package the next day and make the full use of the Park tickets. Not to mention u will be refresh to start a new day. There is also a Novotel near Parc Asterix on the way back.

and where is it best to stay?
    Maybe look at post 11?
we stayed at an affliate hotel in November, Hotel Elysee Val d'europe, free buses go there all day and night, its very quiet, right next to a huge shopping centre and designer "freeport style" shopping village. I can highly recommend it!

just did an example booking. 3 nights 1st june, 2 adults, 2 kids under 7, £289.20 including room, breakfast and 4 days passes into the park. just need to get there.
(Make sure you thank the person in post 11, not me, I just copied and pasted it!) :rotfl:

ooooh I'm so tempted now! My husband really wants to go to asterix but I want disney and I want to stay in a disney hotel to get the early breakfast in the park with the early ride time.

We can't afford it though, but I'll keep your suggestion for next year :T

How do you get to these hotels? taxi? I suppose you could get a free bus from the eurotunnel station to the holiday inn, but I don't know where asterix is, or the novotel :o

  • Tha Holiday Inn / Kyraid hotel are part of the Disney complex, not near the Eurotunnel.
What I meant is after a long day drive from England ( at least 3 hours drive from Calais to Disneyland ) You can rest in a nearby hotel before venture to the Park early in the morning. Then we always stay extra night on the last day so u can leave the Park late and have a leisure drive back to Calais the next day ( Parc Asterix if u still got energy or retail therapy ).
I am very tempted with this 40% off and might co-operate with a trip to Paris.
    Thanks OP

We've been several times to Eurodisney and never stayed in an onsite hotel as they are so expensive. There are hundreds of cheaper hotels around the area which are walkable to a rail station and probably one or two stops (10 mins) from Disney.

    Cool - cheers.

Had already booked to go in July. Just cancelled (lost £100 deposit) but then re-booked and gained a net saving of £250!! Hotel New York is also included in the offer.

I was thinking of the eurostar train station next to the disney park.

barginunter we thought last time that the benefits of being in a disney hotel meant that we could have a shorter break which would fit into school trainings days etc. and also be more relaxed, getting onto 3 or 4 rides before the park opened rather than queueing for 90 minutes for each one (must have been a busy period!). That way we could go back to the hotel for a swim during the busy part of the afternoon, or nip into paris then go back to the park as it quietened down.

Depends what you want out of it I suppose - my disabled sister was desperate for autographs and the first time we went she would spend more than an hour trying to get each one, so for her being in a hotel where the characters turn up for a hug was excellent.

My eldest finds queueing very difficult too, but isn't diagnosed with anything so he can't queue-jump (I've met kids with ADHD, dyspraxia, autism etc. who can queue-jump at alton towers, legoland etc.). 90 minute queues affect him a lot, we couldn't cope with it all day.

I suppose one cheaper option would be to take a termtime holiday, but it's not for everyone.

dont go to euro disney!!! i went at the end of january, we got a good deal costing us £600 for 5 of us for 3 days, 2 nights, flying from birmingham. that included half board

the people there were so rude!! my 4 year old got pushed over by adults pushing in ques!! nobody seems to que except the british!! and it was exactly the same for breakfast, if you were in there way you didnt stay there long!!!

im glad i went for the experience, we went for my husbands and 2 of my childrens birthdays, im just soo thankful i didnt pay thousands!!!

The only thing i will say if you decide to go, book half board. it cost me £64 for the 5 of us for 2 nights food. on our last day we went into the rainforest cafe in the disney village. we had 3 kids meals and 2 burgers and chips, it came to £75 without drinks!!!!

a can of pop was between 3 and 4 euros!!!!:o

eating in the park we didn;t find to be too expensive , we could get burger ,chips and drink or bbq chicken chips and drink for 5 of us for less than 40 euro's .

its not the same as the american experience but we managed to have fun last summer
