Wot? No Primark!

Options
I'm at a loss to guess why there isn't a Primark in Edinburgh. There's nothing that's like it in the city. Could it be that they're quite sniffy about where they site their stores? The old Littlewoods that was taken-up by M & S a few years ago would have been perfect! Does anyone know if there's anything on the rumour mill re - Primark coming here?

Cheers

Thank you for your enquiry. I am very sorry but we do not have any plans to open a store in Edinburgh/Lothians at present.

    I've been Money Tipped!
We have just had our Littlewoods in Bridge Street, Inverness demolished and they are currently in the process of rebuilding. Getting a Primark sometime in the summer, August I think. So if you are passing through in the Summer you can call in.

They've bought the Littlewoods in Dunfermline too but it won't reopen as Primark for about a year!

I was at a funeral 100 miles away in Southern Ireland about 6 weeks ago .We stopped off at a hotel for something to eat beforehand .As I was walking down the street I seen a guy wearing the same coat as I had at home .Guess where it was bought ....... Primark .
Thats what I hate about Primark the next door neighbours ,people at work or 100 miles away all have the same clothes as ME .
Edit do you think Martin:money: buys his stripe shirts in Primark :rotfl:

I see that the Marks and Spencer Ladies store in Princes Street (the one that used to be the much-forgotten Littlewoods) is closing and moving lock, stock and barrel to Fort Kinnaird. Fingers crossed that Primark might take an interest in the vacant property. That location would be ideal!

I managed a store in Edinburgh a few years ago and they closed because the rates are far to high (massive) , some major stores ;) are now looking to pull out, so I think you will find that Primark will be looking for units on the outskirts of Edinburgh like Kinnaird Park ???

I was in the Primark in Glasgow about a month ago and asked if they were thinking of opening a store in Edinburgh. The lady on the cash desk said that she had heard they had thought about it, but like Gadget-guy says the rates here are too high.

Do you mean there'll be menswear, food and homeware at Princes Street, but no ladieswear, or are they consolidating everything in the one remaining store? I fear for my wife's sanity if Per Una isn't available on Princes Street.

Another store I used to use was Peacocks - do they have any shops in Scotland? No unlike Primark but I thought they had a better range and choice, that was in Londinium but don't know how far they spread?
