I have Barcalycard Visa, pay it off each month. Now they don't give Nectar points I was think of getting a Nectar credit card, given that I do my shopping and buy petrol at Sainsbury would that be a good idea do you think? Are the bonus point still available?

IMO combination of a usual 1% cashback card and a Nectar loyality card (not CC) is better.0 -

2. Monthly or yearly does't make any difference for me.
3. I have more freedom with spending cash than with spending points.0 -

Hello Grumbler - What you are forgetting is that when paying with Amex nectar at participating nectar sponcers, you actually get 2% - 2 ponts on the nectar card and another 2 points from Amex.
I can understand your comment about monthly or yearly. It does not matter to me either.
However, although I agree with your last comment to a certain extent, there are many outlets where you can convert your points to cash such as money off at Sainsburys or petrol at BP and many others.
What matters in the end, is that you are getting a good return for your expenditure. I use my nectar combination cards at participating sponsers only and use other cards for anything else. Before doing something... do nothing0 -

Yes, you get 2%. If you pay with other 1% card and a Nectar loyality card you get the same 2%. You don't get extra points on your loyality card if it is used together with Amex Nectar CCWhat matters in the end, is that you are getting a good return for your expenditure.
