Renovating conservatory quote

At the moment we have an 8m x 2.3m lean to conservatory with low brick walls, single-glazing and basically a glorified clingfilm roof!
We're wanting to keep the existing walls, change the windows to double glaze it, put in some french double doors (there's a single glass door at the moment), change the roof to polycarb apex with a box gutter, and add it 6 top opening vents.
We've had several quotes - some of the blokes I wouldn't trust with a bargepole! But a some seemed more genuine. The prices oscillate around 10K with 10 year guarantee on windows/roof and 20 years on hardware.
Does this sound about right?
Many thanks in advance.

seems about right thats a big roof .personally id go for glass roof not polycarb it will make the conservatory warmer in winter and so more usableif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0

Have you thought about replacing it with an extension instead? Basically keep lots of glass, but have better foundations and a proper tiles/slate roof. It's then a proper part of the house that adds value and is more useful that a conservatory that is hot in summer and cold in winter and will need replacing in 10-15 years.0

I take your point about the extension idea.
It's not a possibility in our cottage bc of the way it's laid out - the living room would then have no natural light.
Thanks for your thoughts though. a6windows, I would prefer glass on the roof bc of the noise factor as well (it rains a lot here!). Perhaps I'll ask for a revised quote with a glass roof. What would you say the price difference should be?

I would of said about 11k for your conservatory, including a new base, so if you existing base is good enough (structualy, cavity walls, insulated slab, good enough footings etc) then you should be looking at under 10k really.0
