Personally, i'd go for the Canon..
Here's the specs for the Canon vs the Fuji:
http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/Digital_Camera/PowerShot/PowerShot_A470/index.asp?specs=1
http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/consumer/digital/digital-cameras/fun-and-easy/finepix-a860-131209/Specs
The canon has a bit more 'reach' (greater zoom) and a larger aperture range (better for landscape photos)

There's a distinct lack of reviews of the Fuji ..0 -
I'd also go with the Canon - their cameras are generally very easy to use and for a basic point and shoot under £50, that model is perfectly good enough"Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

thank you, I too like the canon but i was a bit worried as it only has 7.2 mp is that low? I want good picture, I know i cant have it all for under 50, just wondering?
Thanks again:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j0 -
7.2 is not low at all. The push for more pixles is a marketing con to make you want a new camera.0

Read about it here http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/mpmyth.htm0

You can get the Canon Powershot A470 for £47.50 - link to check prices here: http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod664.html
I've echo everyone and go for the Canon, and 7Mp is absolutely fine, I've a backup DSLR with 8Mp that has been used in professional work!0 -

I'm pretty sure Argos is the cheapest price. This is probably the cheapest decent (new) camera at that price point0
