hi all, wondering if someone could help me out,
i have recently bought an insurance policy with Churchill, on a new car. I thought I had 2 years No Claims but I'm not sure and they've just asked me to send proof.
On a policy with Tesco that ended around 1 year and 6 months ago, I recieved 1 years NC. Then, more recently I had a policy with MoreThan (which lasted just under a year) for which I have a confirmation of cancellation letter that states:
'We confirm that 1 year No Claim Bonus has been earned'
I phoned MoreThan to ask whether my total NCD was 1 or 2 years, and the foreign lady I spoke to didn't understand what I was asking.
Does anyone know whether I have 1 or 2 NCD, and if it turns out I only have 1, are Churchill going to kick my a***??? Should I send them the letter from Tesco, along with the Morethan letter???
thanks,
tim
thanks

You have 1 year.
You will be asked to pay an extra premium.0 -
Quentin is correct.
Try to let your policies run until renewal and then you will receive a years no claims bonus for each complete year. As you cancelled prior to renewal you did not earn any no claims bonus for that period so it left you on one years no claims discount0 -
I'm about to cancel my existing insurance as I have just bought a new car and my existing insurer wants an excessive amount of money for the next 4 months cover.
If I cancel and go with another insurer am I going to lose all my built up no claims?0 -
No just the no claims discount earned in the current period eg if you cancel in month 11 you do not earn another years ncd for the 11 months.
Be carefull as you will probably have a penalty charge for cancelling0
