i thought that this was included in his services, in the intial consultation he said that he would not complete without the money for stamp duty as he doesn't want clients to be fined nothing else about filling the form in myself was mentioned
gonna look at the paperwork he sent me and see if that metions it
just wanted to know has anyone else experienced this

We have just returned our form to sols. All we had to do was sign. Everything else was completed by solicitor.0

Your solicitor should do it, that is what he is being paid for (he is trying to be lazy!)"...So...we've got a drop off, a double-cross, an ambush and then what?...then they shot a tramp..." :rotfl: [High Heels and Low Lifes]0

Ask the solicitor (anonymously) what the going rate is for filling in the form then tell him you want this deducting from your bill !0

I had to fill in the form myself, otherwise my solicitor would have charged extra. However, some have it included in the quote at the beginning so look to see what was included. What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!
DFD - WAS: a while ago
NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!

When I was getting quotes from solicitors I read all the small print and compared what each did and didn't include and what cost extra. There were a few things that some mentioned and that others didn't which was interestign and also concerning. I compared them all, and the cheapest one turned out to be more expensive when you added on all the bits in the small print!
A few quotes I got mentioned the cost of doing the form for £80 or so plus VAT, several didn't. I called them all up to clarify and some said they charged extra, some said I could do it myself and some said it was included in the price.0
