Item 'missing' following MOT!

  • do you think a mechanic would really want a pair of female glasses/risk loosing his job over it?

he would if he was a transvestite
  • In future best to use council MOT centres. They don't have any motivation to 'manufacture' faults. Probably less likely to steal also.
  • he would if he was a transvestite
Or maybe even a female mechanic? They do exist you know...
  • I am surprised that any one who reads/follows MoneySavingExpert spends £50
    on sunglasses!
  • When I pick up my car after an MOT/Service they usually put all the loose change from under the seat and the back of the seat in a bag on the dashboard! So I am a few pounds up (apart from the bill!).

Seriously though, tell the owner you will report it to the police if they are not found by the next day. If they have not found them then report it or allow the owner to claim on his insurance and pay you for them.

  • Tell them you will take the value of the sunglasses from the cost of your MOT and pay them the difference.

If the business is going to lose out you may find the culprit (and your glasses) are more likely to be found.

If you were a police officer in Nottinghamshire they would take this matter very seriously...

Ahh someone hasn't been listening to Martin :p MSE is about getting the most out of your money by getting the best deal, living within your means etc not depriving yourself of things.
My designer prescription glasses cost more than £50 but I had budgeted for this and they were the ones that looked the best so I got them, considering how much I wear them and that I won't be replacing them for 2years I don't think it is a high price when you bring it down to cost per wear
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
