Orchid Users - Take Screen Prints Now

All users of Orchid diallers who do (or have done) their own programming using the CW Client software are reminded that the server will be switched off and will then be permanently unavailable at the end of this week.
You are therefore recommended to login and take screen shots of your own program so that you have a 'start point' for future manual or Excel/modem changes.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Orchid changed the Heinz program into numerical order for the last (23-1-09) update.
Their version contains 3 unnecessary Routing Rules too - but they do not alter the program's effect.
I've sent you a copy (and can do the same for anybody else who asks).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. As a result of a power cut here, I tried a force home to reset the day/date/time on my V4 this morning - and found that the server is still working (Sunday 1 March 2009).
I then tried logging into CW Client - and that's still working too.
So there's still time available to get those screen prints (or make final alterations to your program using CW Client) if you haven't done so already.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. I tried the server tonight and can't log in. I guess it is off now. What a sad moment.0

There were loads of warnings and notice about this (one poster did post the wrong date in another thtread, but it was immediately corrected in a following post).
But all is not lost - although you don't know your current tables, when you want to make a change you will still be able to, though will have to "start again", clear your current details and input all the routing you want.
Keep those details on a spreadsheet, which will mean that any more changes can be done by simply altering the route in question.0 -
Hi, all, what's this news - I have not heard anything. Does this mean the boxes are now useless?0
-
No
But you now need to programme it yourself.
Lots of help already on here. Look in the Orchid threads/stickies etc.0 -
Orchids remain functional (with their existing program) but, if a program alteration becomes necessary, you now need to do that yourself.Hi, all, what's this news - I have not heard anything. Does this mean the boxes are now useless?
Minor (one rule) changes are easy to do manually using just a telephone keypad but an Excel spreadsheet and dial-up modem method is also viable.
PM me an email address and I'll send you Kevin's latest Excel spreadsheet.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Sorry I'm a bit confused

CW Client is now no longer available? Why have Orchid decided to make this service defunkt?
So.. how can I now make changes to my routing table? I don't own a dial up modem & haven't been following threads relating to the service being stopped.
Also, how can the time be altered?
Again apologies about being so clueless.0 -
If you didn't take the screen shots, then when you want to make a change you may have to "start from scratch" and build a new table for all your requirements (as you won't know which one ypu specifically want to change).
Setting the time is done manually as before, and is fairly easy.
Lift the handset & dial the following:
* * # 0 0 0 0 * (Time of day, Day of week, Date, month, year) * 2
Where the day of the week is numerical: Monday = 1, Tuesday = 2 through to Sunday = 7.
And the time is on a 24 hour clock.
For example, 3.30pm, Monday, 12th September 2009 would be dialled in as:
* * # 0 0 0 0 * 15301 12 09 09 * 2
Once you have dialled the sequence replace the handset.
There is a guide to manually changing the routes on the orchid web site:
http://www.orchid-telecom.com/Diallers/V4_Manual_Guide.zip(and others here on the various threads.)0 -
I emailed Orchid and they sent me my 'table'....0
