Keeping toast warm

Hi everyone,

I am tryng to save money by not buying breakfast at work.

I dont like to eat breakfast as soon as I get up, so it would be fab if I could just take mine to work with me,

Does anyone have ny ideas about keeping toast warm? I only live 5 - 8 mins from my house, so itwouldnt need to be kept warm for too long.

I;m going to try wrapping in foil (without spread, so it doesn't go soggy),, but if ant OSers have any other ideas, I would love to hear them!

Many thanks!

I think that whatever you do the toast will be cold or soggy.
If it`s possible i would buy a cheap toaster for a fiver and just plug it in and cook the toast at work.

Try Freecycle for a working toaster?

It'll still go soggy from the moisture in the toast :o Like Sunnyday - I think it'll be cold and soggy.

  • Ex OH used to wrap dry hot toast in foil and place in engine compartment of car for the drive to work! I was always a bit worried about poison/damage to car etc but he seems to have got away with it.

Me - I wrap in clean dishcloth (absorbs the moisture) and put on dashboard by vent that blows hot air up to windscreen, drive approx 9 miles in rush hour traffic and toast stil nice and warm and dry when I get here! Elf and Safety killjoys here too.

We used to have a toaster at work. It set off the smoke alarms and the entire building had to be evacuated for half an hour until the fire department had been around to make sure there wasn't a fire. After the 2nd incident we had to get rid of it!

If you arn`t allowed a toaster what about one of those toasted sandwich makers, would you be allowed one of those instead?

You could make a marmalade sandwich and cook it in there, not quite the same but maybe it would be a compromise, nice for savoury fillings too and i`ve seen these in shops for around £6.

Not quite the helpful reply you were expecting... hehe
  • How about a 12v-240v convertor to run a cheap toaster in your car?
