inspiRED DAB Micro Hi-FI with ipod dock £79.99 at Sainsbury's INSTORE

Sainsbury's have reduced the price of their Inspired DAB Micro HI-FI from £129.99 to £79.99 (minus the vat difference)

As stated below it's virtually the same as the Hitachi in Comet for £149.99

Unlike most other brands at that price, like Sony, it doesn't have puny 1w speakers but 2 x 20w RMS speakers. It also boasts an ipod dock with 8 adaptors which charges the Ipod as it plays. As well as SD and USB ports and MP3 CD playback. Large SD cards (over 4gb) can be used in conjunction with usb2 card readers

It also comes with a remote control and 20 station pre-sets

    Oops. Sorry it's £79.99
  • I think(?) the inspiRED is just a Re-badged Hitachi

    http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/453102/HITACHI-AXM898U

I was looking at these last week in Sainsbury's, went next door to check out Comet's stuff and was sure this hitachi was the same.

Anyone confirm this looks the same? or I'll check next time im in.

Either way its a good deal!

Yes they do look extremely similar.

I tried an 8GB SD card in the slot but it didn't like it. So I used a USB2 reader in the USB slot and the card worked fine.

I'm also on my 2nd unit as the first had a very loud cooling fan.

    Technika MC-807 iPod/DAB Micro Hi-Fi

£67.84 reduced from £97.84 at Tesco. I got one of these at the weekend and I am pleased with it so far.

I brought one this week and it has one fatal limitation. Compared to the Hitachi the Sainsbury one has been butched at the back and a number of the inputs have been blanked off. I.e. you cannot insert a coxial aerial FM/DAB aerial and have to rely on a length of wire to act as your cable. Ruined for me as I have poor reception where I wanted to use it. Apart from that its really good value for the money.
  • got one just after christmas for the same price what a bargain

I looked at the Hitachi in Comet today and the back was exactly the same as the inspired version. The same inputs etc.

anyway the Inspired DAB is now £63.60
