Afternoon Tea in London

My friend and I are coming south for a theatre break in May. We have already sampled afternoon tea at the Ritz and the Dorchester and wondered if anyone could recommend a different venue for a civilized treat. Also the best way to book it?

Really lovely place with a mind blowing array of different teas on offer. Their afternoon tea is supposed to be pretty amazing too.0 -

Browns Hotel, or if you really want to push the boat out and have a wonderful experience try Claridges. Enjoy your break :coffee:0

Hi, if you want to sample a bit more of London tea, try the Maids Of Honour tea rooms which are just opposite Kew Gardens.
You get the DISTRICT LINE to KEW GARDENS tube station, that's KEW GARDENS (cos tourist get lost going to the "other" Kew station.
It's a trip a bit out of town, but Kew Garden's station and area is loveley, and after your tea, you could investigate Kew Gardens.
For a really nice day out, you could get the tube out to Kew in the morning, see the gardens, have your afternoon tea, then if you take a walk up to Kew Bridge, there is a boat service back in to town, which takes about 90 minute, dropping you off at the Embankment and is a wonderfully relaxing thing to do, you see the back gardens of how the other half live, and when you get into town you see the sights with a very different perspective to the hustle and bustle. last one goes about 5ish. have a look here. https://www.wpsa.co.uk0 -
