Hp laptop lost wireless network...

I have a 14 month old HP laptop which has recently lost the ability to connect to my wireless network. It has a switch with an led indicator which should be blue to indicate the wireless network adaptor is switched on, this however is illuminated orange which indicates the wireless adaptor is not active. I've reinstalled drivers and tried a system restore to a point which it was working, but to no avail. I'm fairly confident the switch hasn't failed - any ideas?

Do a Google search for HP wireless problems.

I had a HP DV9000 series laptop which suffered from a major network problem.

    How did you resolve it?

Go into Device Manager and check it's enabled etc?

Managed to get a full refund after it had had 2 x wireless cards and a motherboard replaced by HP & PC World Tech Guys.
The keys then started to fall off, so that was enough.

I had it for about 7 months and used it for about 3 at the most.

I've got my HP Laptop on now [about the same age] and the Orange button [on the right] is for the sound...

The button for the wireless network is Blue [ left hand side]...

Go to the HP site and look up your model number [you might have already done this] as there was updated drivers there for my laptop for the wireless card...[there are a lot of updates actually]...

I don't have button for sound, only for the wireless adaptor.

When running wireless assistant, it can't seem to find a wirless network. The network is present and available - all other pc's can access it as can xbox 360 and ps3.

That sounds the same as when my HP DV9000 failed.

It could not see the router from 2 foot away, it turned out that there is a known problem with some HP and compaq laptops.

    What model is it ?

Try a Google search for HP wireless problems.
