any travel suggestions for summer in Toronto

Just booked return flights for a summer holiday in Toronto this August. I'm very excited because it's my first proper holiday since having my son-he's now two. Finally, we're brave enough to take him on a longish flight. So, was just wondering whether anyone had any tips/suggestions for things to do in Toronto or the surrounding area. Also, any suggestions about where to stay would be gratefully received. We're thinking of travelling around the area so would be grateful for all suggestions and ideas.

We went to Toronto for our honeymoon in 2007 and loved it. I would definitely recommend a day trip to Niagara Falls - we used THIS company and they were really good, picked us up and dropped us off right at the door of our hotel.
