    Afternoon ladies

Not done much flying yet today but have done my 'out of house jobs' and really enjoyed today's pilates class.

Toots - I'm much happier today thanks hun, how are you?

Ocado delivery just arrived so plan is to:

    Unpack shopping
    prep dinner and start cooking

Then I'll check my list and get DS3 to finish his homework.

    Hi all, just looking for a bit of advice as I don't really know where to start. I have two toddlers (3 and 19 months) and just getting my OH to do the washing up every night to do his bit is a chore in itself. My house is on 3 floors; kitchen in cellar, living room on ground floor and 2 bedrooms and bathroom on 1st floor. I didn't really know where to start so decided to do a list of what needed to be done in the kitchen intending to do it on sunday but there was so much to do think I overfaced myself a bit and now I just don't know where to start. I can't clean through day as such as I look after the kids full time and my daughter doesn't have a nap through day. Could possibly clean after kids are asleep (7.30ish) but this is only time I get to actually sit down! My list for kitchen was;
    • Take cleaned and dryed clothes upstairs
    • Get some washing and drying done (the pile seems never ending)
    • Get rid of old pram
    • Get rid of cardboard to recycle (up to Oh cause I don't drive)
    • Put all of kids old clothes on freecycle
    • Clean out fridge and defrost freezer
    • Clean oven
    • Sweep and mop kitchen floor
Think that was it allthough no doubt I will come up with something else. ermmm basically...................HELP:eek:
Oh yeah I am also pregnant and I have a mum and sister who seem to keep their houses looking immaculate without any effort :EasterBun (sorry just had to put that one in cause it's funny!)

Hi i havent read all the other replies yet so sorry if i repeat things - just wanted to say hello and I am in a kind of same possition but mine are 5yrs (so at school) and 2yrs - and refuses to nap!! So i no the running round feeling :) Im pregnant and due in 4 weeks - it reallt takes it out of you looking after little ones and trying to look after the house and the tiredness of pregnancy....

I would say maybe take a little thing from your list at a time or try and just do level one from the daily list and soon you will see a improvement! I tried jumping straight in and failed so i tried to do atleast the first level and any more was a bonus!! :)
Try and consentrate on what you have done rather then all the rest that needs doing! I used to get upset with how everything is rather then think 'ive run round after dd done the school run dinner etc and any house work i have done is lucky!!' Also you could try and get the little ones to 'help' it does make things ten time lnger but when they are dusting the lower levels atleast the higher bit are getting a good clean..

Dont get me wrong my hose is still in madness at times but i am finding it a bit easier when i keep sticking to the list on here... Good luck and im sure you will see improvemtent soon - just dont expect it to happen right away as that will be putting to much on yourself...

I also understand about the oh!! mine is the same.....

  • Hi Smiler. Welcome to the thread!

Maybe you could just try to do one job in the morning, one job in the afternoon and one in the evening. E.g. Take washing upstairs in the morning, wipe out the fridge in the afternoon while the kids are sat with you eating a snack. IMHO a quick wipe out of the fridge is enough when you've got two toddlers and when you're pregnant. Things like defrosting the freezer and cleaning the over are big jobs to do when DH (or someone else) takes the kids out.

As far as OH is concerned, you could try saying something like "would you mind just running the hoover over in the lounge while I finish sorting tea out? Or would you rather do tea?" Hopefully he will feel like he has to do something as you will be busy too but he also has some kind of a choice as to what he'd rather do?

Rosepink's idea of your mum or sister having the children for a couple of hours once a week sounds good but it depends if they will or not.

Well, spuds on for sausage and mash for tea. Think I'll start a virus scan going so I can cross something else off the list.

Oooooh I'm hopping mad! the council haven't been  what a bunch of incompetent ignorant scrotes they are.....OH isn't happy cause he wasted almost 4 hrs waiting for them for no reason....which has made me feel bad even though it isn't my fault, you see they have no idea what repurcussions their actions have and neither do they care  *rant over*

On the plus side my SC is smelling divine, I'm dead excited as it's the first time I've used one :j the car is loaded up waiting to go to the skip but have to go and pick littley up first then go.....I'm nearly finished the living room just the floor to wash...so, everything is ticking over...woot!

and there's another 20 items to add to the 100 thing fling, thing....so that makes 70.

Off to kick something........ then wash the floor...
