Rental problem

I have found myself in a strange situation with my rental agreement and am not sure how to proceed. I signed a twelve month contract which does not run out until July, but I have just received a letter telling me that the property has been taken over by a receiver. The flat is one of five in a house and the rest of the house is now empty (several of the properties were reposessed from the same landlord). The communal areas are no longer being heated etc. I assume that I will be kicked out in July, so wanted to find somewhere else. I have found a place that I really like and would like to move asap to avoid losing it. Where do I stand with the tenancy agreement? What happens if I leave early? It seems that the landlord has disappeared and no-one seems to have heard from them. What powers does the receiver have obtaining rent until July? Is it their responsibility to get unpaid rent, or the landlords?

did you not see the BBC news this weekend; saddly as a tennant; you get zip respect; if your landlord didn't have a buy-to-let mortgage the first you could know was the bailliffs at the door evicting you; unpaid rent I'd think ws the balliffs; but time to relocate; not as contracted

phone the receivers and talk to them0

Check your original contract. Normally you have to give 1 months notice regardless of the term. If your still unsure though, i'd speak to the receievers0
