Latest info I got today.
Tesco Worldwide(USA + Canada) annual cover inc 22 days winter sports. 2 Adults 1Child. £124.20. Tesco claims department denied having a £250 limit and said cover would be up to the policy limit £2500 per person. Points added back to the clubcard for successful claims. Medical cover £2million.
Travel Insurance Web Worldwide (USA + Canada) annual cover inc 21 days wintersports 2 Adults 1 Child £97.35. Airmiles or other vouchers covered to the policy limit of £3000 per person. If vouchers not available to refund then monetary compensation to the lowest commercial fare/package available for the time of travel. Medical cover £5million. Pre-existing medical condition in our case covered at no extra cost.0 -
re tesco travel insurance: had booked a hol to eurodisney 2 years ago and son in hospital having emergency op; they paid full cost of holiday in cash to us (ie 4 x the voucher value). I was very impressed, also they paid within a couple of months.0

Just to add:
If you converted your Clubcard vouchers to BA Miles, if you need to cancel you automatically get your BA Miles credited back to your BAEC account. Surcharges/taxes are also refunded. There is a small admin charge, but not one that is more than the refund (unlike the situation you will find with low cost airlines).
The BA Miles appear back in your account in minutes!
This is because BA Miles bookings are fully flexible, just like the most expensive tickets bought with money, rather than non-refundable cheapest tickets.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Have just booked for a family of 4 to Europe (annual policy).
Travel agent wanted £54 for 10 days... Travel-web annual policy including kite surfing, scuba diving, cycling etc was £58... Also covered Deals vouchers under their 'other redeemable vouchers' wording. Very pleased as now we can get next years holiday insurance 'free' in effect.
thanks.:j0 -
I have just emailed them to check their policy on clubcard vouchers and have received the following (so have it in writing):
"We cover bookings made using Tesco Clubcard vouchers. In the case of a cancellation in such a situation, we would refund the cost of lowest fare and not the Tesco Clubcard vouchers."
HTH someone
We've just booked a holiday to Sri Lanka for 2 people. I'm using £1530 in Tesco vouchers, have paid about £250 as deposit and have about £700 to pay. (Incidentally this is about the most expensive trip to Sri Lanka I've seen - I could have got it for half that amount if I'd not been using Tesco vouchers)
If I had to cancel, would they reimburse all of the this? There will always be:
A “LIE” in BELIEVE, an “OVER” in LOVER, an “END” in FRIEND, an “US” in TRUST , and an “IF” in LIFE0 -

Interested in Travel web, has anyone had to claim on a policy for vouchers?
Also, I wonder if anyone anywhere has gone to court to make an insurer pay up and what the result was.0 -
We have a family annual travel policy with Columbus Direct and the policy document has the following wording:
"(If travel arrangements were paid for by Air Miles or by any other form of redeemable
vouchers, reimbursement will be the reinstatement of the Air Miles or redeemable vouchers to their original account. If reinstatement is not
possible, we will reimburse the lowest advertised fare by the airline for the flight in question"
By the way, it worked out much cheaper to book this through TravelSupermarket.com than directly with Columbus - even allowing for cashback via Quidco. I ticked the box to say that we did not have any pre-existing medical conditions as this was the only way to buy the policy at the cheap price. Once I had downloaded the documents, I phoned Columbus and explained that I had needed to correct the medical information that I had given as my son had just had grommets put in and also has asthma. They charged me an extra £10 or so on my credit card to fully cover him - but this still worked out by far the cheapest deal for us.0 -
Apologies for trying to revive such an old thread, but does anyone know of any developments in this field over the last three years?0
