Salou to Andorra. Anyone done it?

I'm visiting Salou for 4 days in April  and whilst I intend to do some serious chilling, I would like to spend one day doing some sightseeing. I've seen most of southern Spain, and been to Barcelona (which I love and will be going to for at least an afternoon) but I've seen that you can to do a day trip to Andorra.
For those who don't know Andorra, it's a little tax free place between France and Spain which is popular for skiing.
Has anyone either been there before, or even travelled from Salou or that kind of area for the day?
Any thoughts? :j

Years ago whilst on a package in salou, instead of paying to go on official coach trip to Andorra,I hired car and drove there.Dissapointed in the shopping but the mountains looked great,so drove right up to tops and back to salou same day
Was a long day, tiring,Pyrenees worth it but nothing in the'shops/town to warrant visit
I can thoroughly recommend Montserrat,in the mountains behind Barcelona, monastary in fabulous setting.0 -
Same as Clair really, done it a few years ago, was further than I thought, 300mile or more, round trip but a good scenic drive. The ciggys were really cheap but they were searching every car leaving Andorra so only got 200 each. Got some funny looks too, the weather was really nice in Salou, so drove up in shorts and flip-flops, totally different in Andorra, pouring with rain and really cold, still had snow on top of the mountains, that was the end of May.0

I also did it a few years back. Booked the tour with mytravel reps, never again , 4 and half hours to get there, we only had 2 hours in Andorra and had to leave again. Same story regarding duty free, every coach was searched.0
