Hi there,
I was looking for another safe account to put some money in and opened an esaver online last weekend with the Ulster Bank. Having gone through the application ok I was informed I would get the paper work in the post. Nothing happened, so I just phoned them and was told this was not available to me as I was in England ...
1. why did they let me do the application ... surely at postcode stage entry it should have stopped
2. How come I have seen it recommended here?
Frustrated & feeling a bit silly that I told a friend to apply ...

I thought it was open to people throughout the UK. Hope so as the wife is about to open an account.

Try quoting Section 27.1 Page 32 of the following document to them:

And I assume you applied via the NI website and not the RoI website ;-)0
