Girls confirmation outfit

Mrs Leolion asked me to find out if anyone could advise her of anywhere from Newry to Belfast where she could buy a confirmation outfit for our 11 year old daughter. Spent all day today in Dublin but came home empty handed. Plenty of outfits but not really suitable if you know what I mean. (Not what an eleven year old should be wearing anytime- never mind to mass:eek:

If you search this forum, it has already been a topic and might you some ideas. I know marks and spencers at sprucefield were selling them, can't comment on quality and all - it just has an area for confirmation dresses.

I know a wee shop in Girvan that will suit her out perfectly. It's about 30 miles up from Stranraer, if you get desperate for a quick pop over the water.

I think Leolion is looking for a confirmation outifit which is not the same as a confirmation dress (white dress). As a general rule a confirmation outfit is a nice sunday go to church outfit, only in this case mass... Something special, almost grown up but not night clubby or trashy.. A hard thing to find for this age group these days!

Agreed. The above thread deals with communion dresses, not confirmation outfits.
Not really sure where you would get a suitable outfit, something smart and not trashy. Do you know what sort of things previous years have plumped for?

How scary, the age group for confirmation is around 10 or 11 years old. They start young, don't they...?

Has Mrs Leolion had a look in Next? There is a branch in The Quays in Newry. A friend of mine outfitted her 11 year old daughter for confirmation and a couple of weddings from there. She still managed to look her 11 years, rather than an 18 year old nor a tall 8 eight year old.

Or she could look into getting something made - just a suggestion, I couldn't even begin to suggest where you are likely to find someone who can sew to that standard.

Hi - I am not sure what shops are available to you but Marks and Spencer have just brought out a communion range or at least they had in my local store here in Cheshire.

CONFIRMATION not COMMUNION

There is a difference, Confirmation is around 11yrs old and Communion is around 7 and the dresses are white..

Thanks for all your help folks - especially "kidshorsesdogs" & "Teerah" who are doing their best to explain that it is a CONFIRMATION outfit and NOT a communion outfit.

Looks like we will be spending Saturday trawling through Belfast!
