Lady at chinese supermarket said it wouldn't work. Well it did - quantities

1/4 cup of popping corn (same place as bags = 65p for loads!!!).....bag folded over a few times at the top (about 1cm)..popped in 800w micro for 1 min 30...Done!!!

If you are using them for the microwave, do make sure they are microwave-safe bags, not all brown bags are.

You can get cheap brown kraft paper bags online at simplybagz.com.
Only £6.00 for a pack of 1000! That works out as less than a penny per bag! (+ VAT and delivery)
