Tracing my No Claims

Options
Hiya guys about 4 or 5 years ago I had a policy with Norwich Union and managed to get one years no claims under my belt. Since then I haven't had a car and have been a named driver on my father's policy. I'm now looking at taking out my own policy again but I cant find the proof of my no claims, so I was wondering if there is any way at all to contact norwich union and ask them to send it to me again. Would they still be willing to do this as its been such a long time? Any help welcome guys, cheers

  • It won't matter - it has a shelf life of about 2 years. ;)

Looks like you're starting from scratch

Like tinkerbell said your no claims bonus has expired, there are companiies however who will give you an introductory no claims bonus if you have been a named driver.

Might be worth trying a local broker for it as they will know or failing that ring round direct companies and ask

i was with Norwich union had 4 years no claims, did not need insurance for about 3-4 years.
When i needed private insurance again i had to get proof of no claims, rung Norwich union , sent it to me no problems!! nothing about it expiring when i rang!! I never had policy number , just gave my name and address,
I'm sure there is a cut off date, but it does not have to be consecutive.

The cut off date is normally two years from the expiry date but some companies including Norwich Union allow up to three years
