Old V5 Registration Document

Thought someone in here might be able to help/advise me on a little issue I have with buying a used car.

I've found a car that I'd like to buy but the problem is the seller only has the old style (single page) V5 Registration Document instead of the new (two page) V5 Registration Document. The old V5 was stopped last July and I was worried if this would cause any problems to be.

Does anyone know anything about this, had any experience of it or know if an old V5 document could hide any information that would be harmful to the sale?

All help/advice appreciated.

Usually if you only had old V5 they would send out new one when you retaxed your car. This is from DVLA site.
Why do vehicle keepers need a new V5C?
All motorists are asked to ensure they are issued with the new V5C registration certificate, as after 30th June 2005 failure to produce a V5C could cause problems when selling a vehicle. After this date, motor traders and private buyers may refuse a sale if the vehicle keeper is unable to produce the new certificate.

If the vehicle has been unlicensed for some time, and kept off the road with a SORN declaration, a new V5C may not have been issued.

If you are satisified that the vehicle is genuine, you will have no trouble sending the old V5 for the keeper change to be made, then you'll be issued with the new Registration Certificate. You may not be able to tax the vehicle at a post office with the old V5, but you should have no trouble at a DVLA Local Office, making sure you take in the correct documentation.

We have a few here with the old V5, but as soon as they go the DVLA will send out a new style V% to the new keeper. Dont worry!
