Reclaim PPI from Egg - have received copy of agreement - next steps?

Options
Hi all. My situation is as follows - I'm hoping you can help.
  • The loan was agreed on 21st Jan 2004 - so not that old.
  • I am paying it off still - will be for another 2-3 years.
  • I don't recall the conversation about the loan terms and any PPI but am certain I would not have agreed to PPI had I been told.
I have now received a copy of my original loan agreement from Egg.

It does state the PPI amount on the first page of the agreement. #

But I still don't remember being told I was signing up to it. Maybe I just didnt see it? I'm just certain I wouldn't have taken it up if I'd known.

What can I do next to reclaim?

    Hi there

You have every right to complain and reclaim then.

Check this link out here for more info and reclaim template:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

And for any other reason that may occur to you.
I would use the template letter to help but try to use your own words as well with your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to respond in full.

Another letter maybe required if not successful first time round or until you exhaust their complaints procedures, the final response they should let you know if your eligible to take this to the financial ombudsman service with an enclosed leaflet with procedures of this.

Post by recorded delivery and please keep us posted on this in case any help is required, good luck.;)

Double check on the link and if you think any of the reasons applied on the link occurs to you write them down and also write you were unaware of the PPI added to the credit.
They may get back and state you must have been aware as you signed and blah blah blah, but that is just a fob off standard response, you may have thought it was all part of the agreement, you can tell them that if you did think it was.

And besides if the PPI was totalled in with the loan amount the FOS would take a dim view on this type of policy.

You can tell them you have only just learnt of this type of mis selling in the media and believe you have the right to reclaim due to your reasons of XXXXXXXXXXXXX and so on.

    Hope this helps hun X;)
