trying (unsuccessfully) to burn a dvd from pc hard drive in Nero 9 but it wont let me burn to a dvd, only a cd to play on a dvd player. however, even this is not working as it makes all the right moves but then spits out the disk saying incorrect disk, too small etc.. any ideas? think the dvd file on the pc needs converting, but to what? all offers gratefully received!

Hi Pash,
Could you give me some information on what dvd drive you are using to burn the disc?
What type of information are you trying to burn? is it an image file? (ISO, MDF, BIN/CUE)
Or is it seperate .VOB files?

Aaaah a "DVD Rip" is an avi video heh....
Im not really supposed to give you tips on copying things like that
But lets just say its a dvd rip of a friends wedding
What you need to do is first convert it to a file a dvd player can read (and they can be quite large), id use winavi to do that, then you start a new disc project in nero and copy the outputted files into the Video_TS directory (there will be an Audio_TS and a Video_TS..leave the audio one empty)
Then burn it to a dvd, theyre typically around 3GB in size, over have a dvd's worth.
Also, it might sound silly, but are you sure you have a dvd drive capable of burning dvd's? It should have something like DVD R/RW labelld somewhere on the front.
