printer ink

I have a fabulous HP printer that is absolutely a good as the day I bought it. :T
Only problem is the ink.
Up to recently I have used Cartridge World for refills. My nearest one, 10 miles away, has had 4 goes at refilling one of the cartridges but the printer won't 'read' it as full. I put an old one back and all's well so I know it's not the printer.
The ink cartridge number is 10. I need a refill on each of the colours now or at least a chip reset which they also seem unable to do successfully altho they have in the past. :o
Anyone any experience of this and any suggestions.
Not an option financially to buy a new printer!

I have an HP PSC 1410 and I get my ink from inkworld online. I buy the compatible ones which are treble the size of the HP and Ive had no probs.
  • It could be an issue with the chip itself, maybe try getting some compatible cartridges from your ink supplier? Ask them to test your cartridges also, id assume they have a way to do that. If they dont read as full then the chip may be borked.
If they filled it up 4 times and it still doesnt work, seems likely the cartridges are at fault. Maybe someone you know uses the same kind as you?

Failing that, you might be better off buying the compatibles and just refilling those.

That's great! Had a look at their website and they actually stock the cartridge and list the printer which is more than HP still do as it is quite a few years old and never became popular as it was a bit expensive!
    Will give thema try.
Thanks for bothering to help. x

Stupid me, I meant inkclub Flossy!!, If you go through quidco you get cash back from them aswell :)

BTW I think the all in one printer/scanner/copier from HP are only about £45 now. Check out amazon.

Interestingly, inkclub are nowhere near as economically priced (cheap!!) as inkworld! Have you bought from inkworld or only from inkclub?

I think Ive done several floss but I tend to go for the ones I can get cash back on :) I also went to trial pay and got a years av suite by buying just one inkclub cartridge :)

Im glad you are suited anyway :)
  • yeah it does seem like the problem is with the chip on the cartridge although these cartridges must be primed correctly if they are being refilled compatiable cartridges are pretty eompetitve on pricing so give those a try at the right price
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam
  • Looks like it was a faulty batch of chips. My local Cartridge World got in a new batch for me and rechipped ALL my cartridges (at NO charge!) and all is now well!
Still, I've learnt a lot about other options so I'm a happy bunny - thanks all.:T
