Changing from Economy 7

I'm currently with Eon on Economy 7 and after checkin on U-Switch it seems it would be cheaper to go onto standard electricity with EDF, does anyone know if it is going to be problematic changing suppliers and also coming off of Economy 7 at the same time?

Some suppliers change the meter, some just add the readings together and use the total. Some charge for changing the meter, some don't. So, although it shouldn't be a problem, there might be an advantage for you in changing one at a time. I would ring EDF and ask them. If they want to charge for a new meter (and I have a feeling they don't), might be worth asking nPower, swapping meters and then switching.0

I'd give E.ON a call and ask them to change you on to a one rate tariff. You won't need a meter exchange.:)
As Magentasue says they can add the day and night reads together and bill you on standard prices.

Yes, but that wasn't the question. OP wants to switch from eon. It's more relevant what EDF would do.0 -
It can take around 4-6 weeks to change supplier, so I'd still ask to change the prices for the time being. It might save a bit until the switch has gone through.

Thanks for this tip, I gave them a call last night and they have switched me over to standard prices, interestingly though I asked to go onto On-line Energy Saver 12 as we were currently on Saver 8 and was told I couldn't go on this tariff unless I had dual fuel and should never have been on the Saver 8 tariff either. Anyway I went on-line this morning to check that I had been moved onto standard electricity, which I had, and then switched myself over to the Saver12 which works out a bit cheaper.0
