in Credit cards
Can anyone put my mind at rest, today went down to the shops and paid by card, the staff member explained that all card transactions had to be phoned and verified as they had been hit with fraud - ok fine not a problem, she then pulled the phone through to the shop and called whatever number, read out my card number then my expiry date in front of a packed shop >:( i did at the time express how unhappy and that it was surley a secrity risk for her to do that and she explained she didnt really have a choice as she had to make the calls and watch the (busy) shop at the same time, ok its not her fault but it left me fumming, i called the card issuer who explains my card is safe but to watch my statements - is this right? can someone use those numbers and get stuff? I did call the shops branch head office to complain and they took all my details and are passing it on to the manager and will gt back to me.
And yes i might be worring over nothing but i need to know :-/ Please can anyone put my mind at rest either way.

You phoned your card company.
You phoned the shop's HQ.
You are in possession of your card.
Anyone trying to use your card in a "card not present (cnp)situation would be asked for the 3 digit security code which is on the back of the card in addition to which the good they ordered, if sent, would arrive at your address.
Sleep easy in your bed................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
