Raised bed using old bricks
I've made a raised bed using some of the old victorian house bricks that i've had kicking about the place. Its about 8 foot by 4 foot.
It looks fab, but i realise that I've now also made a lovely new home for slugs and snails!!
Oh no!!! and soon, my new veggies will also be providing them with a nearby supply of food!.
I really don't want to dismantle my new raised bed...is there anything that i can plant to discourage the hungry grubs..or any other ideas.
thanks all.

Put copper pipe around the top of the raised bed to stop more slugs getting in then use
nemaslug to kill off the ones that are in the bed. Here's a link, most garden centres sell it.

You could pebble dash the sides and top if you do a really rough one it should help stop them climbing up the sides of the walls0

Save your egg shells, put them on the bottom shelf when you are baking and then in a plastic bag and crush them up. Spread them around the perimetre of the bed to help. Then surround each plant with cheap oatmeal as the slugs apparently are suckers for it.
The ones that aren't put off by the rough eggshell will dry out eating up the oatmeal!
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
