Edinburgh - Birmingham (Megatrain ??)

hi,
most probably will need to travel from Edinburgh to Birmingham Airport on April 6th to catch a flight. I found that megatrain has this route very conveniently (run by Virgin actually) and the prices they have are very cheap. But when i select the route (and any other route) Megatrain/Megabus only shows the rides up to March 29th...
does anybody knows why is that ?? and when i will be able to buy the tix for April 6th
thanks in advance

Yes - they only release tickets approximately 45 days in advance. How precise that is I don't know but it shouldn't be too long before you can book.0 -
the thing is.. i remember looking at the website some weeks ago... i think it was the sames dates available also...0

I'm in a similar predicament and emailed them.
They replied to say the website would be updated sometime this week.
Let's hope so!Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
I have been waiting before to book tickets and they seem to often to big blocks all in one go near holidays ie Easter/summer/xmas. -don't know why!0

I'm planning to do the exact reverse journey on the exact same date, I could have sworn the last date booking has been the 29th of March for some time now. Good to know it isn't me.0

They do release fares in big blocks (often several weeks at a time). I suggest you keep looking at it once a day until they're available. You could always try seeing how much ordinary advance fares are at the moment - it may be worth booking one of these to give you peace of mind (and you can get one all the way to Brum Intl rather than megatrain, for which you'll need a new ticket to get to the airport).0

yep me too.... I've been waiting to book tickets to London for early April... and normally they'd be there by now.
It will be interesting to see whether it will still be possible to get the £1 fares when they eventually appear (I usually find on the route I want, some have risen from that after only a day of availability - sometimes even half a day)
Ive often wondered whether the price rise is tied to the number of people buying up tickets, or is done on a "timing scheme" from when they are first available.0 -
Thanks for the posts, which are very helpful. I was doing a search of the forums to see if anyone knew when the next batch of seats are being released, as I am also looking to book ahead for the festival season and was concerned that the seats available have only been to end-March for weeks now.0

Bought my tickets today too, and not that I'm complaining at this price, but I really don't understand their booking system:
1 person £3, 2 people £8. Okay, that's fair enough, but surely that means I have the last £3 ticket? In that case I find it weird it didn't disappear in the 15 minutes it took me to decide whether to book or not (I hadn't added it to my basket)
I mean I even tried using 2 computers one ticket each and clicking at the same time. One page both were £3, the next page £3/£5, so unless they do something with IP addresses I must have had the last ticket... Last time I booked with Megabus it was also £1 first ticket £3 next if I remember correctly.
Like I said, I'm not complaining, but I really want to know how it works. I'm assuming that unlike booking normal Standard Advances, it isn't requiring that when you book two tickets you get two seats next to/near each other...0
