I know this has been asked before.. but.
Has anyone tried myhiphome.co.uk ?
They are based near me and the price is very competitive..
I have emailed them and they have advised they use
"Local Authority Personal Searches."
Is this what I should be looking for ? I need to keep costs down..
but I want things right
Thanks

It honestly doesn't matter what searches they use as your buyers solicitor will want their own searches anyway. The personal searches are cheaper, yes - they wouldn't be used for buying with a mortgage you want a proper insurance backing; but for the purpose of a HIP, it's really irrelevant when even the official searches are likely to be carried out again!
I'd just go for the cheapest HIP I could find.
(sorry to be pedantic but it's a Home Information Pack (HIP) HIPs would be the plural, it doesn't make any sense to call it a HIPs Pack - my husband does it too and you'd think he'd know better
) Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks for the point on HIPs:p
Seems pointless paying for this if they'll do it again !!
Any one tried myhiphome ??0 -
If your house takes longer than about 6 months to sell, the searches will be out on date and most solicitors will get new ones or insure the old ones. Some cheap packs will be of little use to your buyers solicitors so the buyers will have to pay. Bear this in mind.0
