Hi, I was a bit fascinated by these in Lidl's yesterday, and bought some... now I'm wondering what to do with them? The packet suggests browning them in the oven and adding white wine and lemon juice and cooking for 20 minutes.
My question - has anyone tried this? Are they nice, or better done in a casserole type dish?

, so presumably it is sole rolled up, but to what do 'fourlined' and 'tongue' refer?

yeah, it is fish, rolled up if i remember correctly!
I think it may be four lined (as in 4 pieces of fish) rather then fourlined - I think they may be stuffed with something green if I am thinking of the right thing...0 -

Hi there, I was puzzled when I saw them a few weeks ago, the fish is called tongue sole as in the link above, not sure what the four lined bit is about though.0 -
Thanks everyone, you learn something new every day. Sorry to be of no help whatsoever to the OP:o Hope you enjoy them however you cook 'em.0

They're balls of rolled up fish (some kind of sole, presumably), frozen and held in place with little bits of plastic that you remove before cooking. They're about the size of a medium potato. I have no idea what fourlined means, it's just what they're called on the packet! I was hoping it would make sense to someone else
.
Well, I did what it said to do, and they were so completely disgusting that even the cats don't want them.
Never again!
Thanks for the replies everyone :T .I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

I think it has a couple of lines on either side - two on the blind side and two on the eye side. It's a flat fish with eyes on one side (the left) only.
Tongue is, I believe, because there is a "hook" on the snout overhanging its mouth so it looks like a tongue.0
