£3000 for Rectory does not include food or ceremony but they are flexible on food. Also, the 12 rooms are £115 to £175 per night (Sat) so even if you half that for your guests, you still get a significant proportion back towards the bill.
Ceremony I think is just the registrar fee if you go for the exclusive package - you can request the wedding info from their website. There is a church next door but you cannot marry or even have a blessing there if you do not live in the parish - but nothing to stop you using it as a very pleasant backdrop for some of your photos!
We looked at a place in Berkshire that was just a big barn (not very attractive one) and that cost £3200 without any food/drink etc - the one benefit was that as you were required to provide your own catering they did not charge corkage.

£3000 isn't too bad then I suppose, considering you get 12 rooms aswell.
Does the rectory allow outside catering at all?0 -
Hi engagementUser
The wedding at The Rectory was lovely, everybody really enjoyed the day and the food was fantastic. I doubt they allow outside catering for the main meal and you would miss out on one of the real selling points of the venue.
We hired a marquee for the disco which to be honest was a bit of a waste as so few people danced that we could have just used the conservatory. Although the marquee company were brilliant and we got some really pretty pictures with the starcloth ceiling, and of course the obligatory kids sliding all over the dancefloor - kept them occupied at least. The layout allows groups to break off into separate groups, so we didn't have one 'lump' of guests - which had both good and bad points.
I see you've enquired about a harpist on another thread. I considered it and found one called Marie-France Riboulet. I met her at a wedding fair and she and her colleague seemed very nice. I didn't get a quote from her but after looking into fees in general I decided to have nice music on the iPod and put the money towards a falconry display. That was the absolute highlight and definitely money well spent. The grounds were perfect and we got some great photographs.
Hope that helps and good luck.0 -

Hi ebeneezer - thanks for the reply - yeah I have been googling around for a Harpist, but haven't found very many so will note down Marie-France Riboulet.
Can I be cheeky and ask if you have you got any pictures from the wedding online? Would be great to have a look :-)
Thanks again0 -
I'll have a play - might take me a little while as they're on the other half's Mac. We don't have formal shots as we had our ceremony elsewhere and wanted this to be relaxed, but still got some lovely shots.0
