Mum used to make a lovely steak marinade:

    grate 1 small onion
add herbs of your choice and a little pepper
    corn oil
equal mix of brown sauce and ketchup

mix together and marinate the steak in it overnight.

The other one we use it in is cottage pie:

Yep, as above, use it as worcester type sauce.

I bung it in all sauces, including baked beans etc. also brown sugar, vinegar and plenty of sauce over ribs/bangers etc. mmm yummy.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

the people who've mentioned adding it to dishes and as marinades does it still taste of 'brown sauce? Cos I really do not like the taste, so would have to use it on hubbys portion only or can you not tell once it's mingled in with everything else.

Basically it depends on how much you put in. I love brown sauce, but DH & DS don't, but they have never noticed its there!

or else try deacnting a bit at a time into hp bottle, shake well, and see if he notices.
Just thought I'd update. I tried several of the suggestions on here but the above is the tip that has worked best :D . We are now 3/4 of way down the Asda bottle and he's never noticed. He's never noticed that the HP bottle never goes down either.:rotfl:

When we get to end I'm torn between telling him it's all in his mind that one tastes better or just carrying on decanting and leave him in his ignorance. What do you think

Whether you tell him or not is up to you and your conscience!

But .... I wouldn't be surprised to hear that if/when you do tell him, he says something like, "I thought it didn't taste as nice as usual!"

I agree with Chipps!! I have done similar things with my VERY fussy DD and she always says "I thought it tasted rank - I thought I'd gone off it" or some such thing and now she is majorly distrustful of what I serve up - so in the long run I've made her even more fussy!!!
