Spendless

Searching for things to take part in the February 'use it up' thread I discovered we had 2 opened bottles of bown sauce.
Mr Spendless has bought himself some HP cos he decided he didn't like the Asda own brand:rolleyes: .
None of the rest of the family like brown sauce so won't get used up that way. Wondered if you could use it up in any recipes that the family might like or even any cleaning purposes it could be used for.

One thing some people try is to put the value stuff into the branded bottles. Actually my OH decided to use up some bits from old bottles yesterday by pouring them into one container.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

i put a tablespoon of value brown sauce in stews and casseroles, gives them a lovely flavour. or else try deacnting a bit at a time into hp bottle, shake well, and see if he notices.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0

Well I've topped up the HP bottle and shook;) . Hopefully he won't notice cos I went a bit mad and accidentally filled to the top and it's a glass bottle so he will have to take top off to pour. And hopefully he won't read this either:p .
So now for the 3/4 that's left. How do I clean saucepans with it and what sort of marinade do I make and for what.0 -
Fry onions and mince. Add tin of baked beans and dollop of brown sauce. Hey presto mince and beans I think the recipe was called!

saucepans - leave it to soak overnight in a layer of brown sauce
marinade - for example chicken wings or legs with the sauce and any herbs/garlic/onion you like, or pork chops or ribsMember no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

marinade chicken breasts in it, grill them, gives them a sticky rib type finish if that makes sense, works with chops or any meat like that.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0

I often add a little bit of brown sauce to casseroles, mince (eg shepherds/cottage pie) etc.0

Well I use ketchup to clean my brass scales,I expect it's the vinegar.I'd have thought brown sauce would work just as well.0
