Cooker Hood Bulbs And Halogen Bulbs

Hi,

any ideas where I can get replacement bulbs for my cooker hood. Its a philips 40w for a zanussi,

Also, halogen 2 stud bulbs for kitchen lights (the push and twist type) . Anywhere cheaper than B and Q or Asda. They are £5 each...............crazy prices. I need 4, I may as well buy another lamp!!

I don't know where you live, but B&Q Warrington had packs of 6 GU10 bulbs reduced to £1.48 on Friday. I suspect it was a misprice.
  • Wilkinsons do a large range of bulbs.
I recently got cooker hood bulbs, tubes for undercupboard lighting and halogen spotlights from there. They did have them on a buy two get one free offer, but think that may have finished now. Sorry, can't remember the prices.

  • Yes I bought a 6 pack of GU10 bulbs from B&Q a couple of weeks back for £4 something. Normal not special price. White and orange packaging. Helpful assistant told me to look at light fittings section to find cheaper ones than the single and multipack ones (£8 something) in the bulb section.

Would probably do generic cooker hood bulb too. I tend to buy oven/ fridge freezer bulbs etc from John Lewis as they are really helpful and don't mind you changing them if they turn out to be the wrong fit as normally happens to me!

Have you looked at buying on-line? There are several places that sell bulbs very reasonably, just watch out for the P&P.
  • The diyshops are very expensive for bulbs. Try online or a supermarket.

  • Try not to keep turning them on and off - they will last for ages then. Trust me my Dad is an electrician and he is always telling me off about it!
