Omega Kitchen Range

Hi, has anyone any knowledge of this kitchen range? I viewed several of these today at a local stockist in Glasgow. They certainly look fab, but only have solid wood back and rest of carcus are chipboard I think? I want this kitchen to still look good in 7 or 8 years time, but can't afford to go to the really expensive ones.

I thought their gloss shaker units were fabulous. Im going back next week for a full quote. I have an average U shaped kitchen and got one ridiculous quote of £9k from someone who came to the house.

Just wondered if anyone had experience of this range??

THanks

Can anyone at all advise if they know of this range and also of DUROPAL work tops which I believe are laminate??

    Thank you
  • I believe that the cabinet backs are solid (15mm thick for base units, 8mm for wall units) rather than solid wood - as opposed to just thin chipboard. I saw this make in a local showroom - but discounted them because they didn't do the high wall cupboards I was after - so didn't look too closely.

We are about to have DUROPAL worktops installed in our kitchen (They are currently sitting in the hallway). They are 4m long and weigh a ton - look good and solid. You can order samples (veneer thickness rather than worktop thick...) from their website.

Thanks very much, there doesn't seem to be a lot of knowledge about them, but maybe no bad reports is a good thing!
  • durpoal worktops are a very good laminate worktop and i would reccomend them to anyone. As for Omega. I havent really had any dealings with these kitchens so cant really comment but i think they are on the lower end of buget and quality but i could be wrong

Sorry if my reply is a bit late (only just joined). We had Omega kitchen fitted approx two years ago, can't remember the name but it's maple and very modern looking.
It has metal drawers and all the doors and drawers are soft close. I think the worktops are Duropal as well. We have no complaints whatsoever and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. Also they seemed to have special offers every month whereby selected ranges had up to 50% off, our supplier let me know when the Kitchen I liked came on special offer therefore saving a fortune on rrp. He said the offers changed frequently and we wouldn't have to wait too long for the one we had chosen.
Hope this info helped and wasn't too late for you.

THanks thats great to hear:T . They look good to me, whether top end or lower budget. Hope to get a good 7 years or so out of them, and the way styles change etc, im not too fussed about going for top of the range.
