Ebay closed my account!

Got amessage off ebay today to say my account has been suspended as it has been linked with another previously suspened account. They gave me the ther ebay ID and I dont recognise it and am definetly not associated with it!

I am so annoyed as I have sold things and had emails off buyers now accusing me of "conning" then plus Ive bought things that havent arrived, got items awaiting payment for etc.

It appears Im suspended indefinetly as theres no timescale mentioned in the email!

They also closed my sisters ebay for the same reason tonight. The account shes meant to be associated with is my brothers account but thats in diff name, address and shes never bid / bought anything with his account so its not shill bidding theyve linked it with!

Ebay treat their customers with total contempt.

just wondering if theres any way of appealing and if so what are the chances they will take the suspension off my account?

All you can do is email, but they don't really care, so your pleas might fall of deaf ears.

If they ignore me I will jsut set up a new account they can keep closing it if they want as long as I manage to sell or buy a few items each time before they cotton on

but you would be a new seller every time with limitations on your account
why not access live chat and see if you can resolve it

This kind of behaviour from Ebay is why it's a good idea to list on as many other sites as you have time for. They might not have the traffic of ebay, but a few odd sales on each one add up and provide some kind of back-up, plus most have free listing.

It's not that easy any more.

Plus you need a new paypal account each time they ban you.

Just ditch ebay and use a different place to sell, or open your own webshop.

The more people ebay ban, the less traffic ebay will get.

Hi, if ebays suspended you without no time scale, it normally means forever. Its happened to me many times. I got linked to a previous owner for the house i bought, and bang....they shot me. I emailed them many times but as you know they take days to replying and its like waiting for the rain. Anyway, i opened another account up because i only buy on ebay and sell a little and its been fine. I think you need to contact the safe harbour. Anyway, if you tell them that you dont know the other account ebay id, and that you only have the 1 then they will be fine about it. Also state to them that, you only want your account. If that fails....then pm me and i will help you open another account.

Well I rang ebay and was told its an account in husbands name at our address from 2004 (2 years before we moved here) and was suspended for owing money. He reset all the password with them and we logged into pay the fees.

Only to discover the account was in my name at my previous address and from looking at the feedback a year after we moved out! So Im annoyed I paid the fees for some fraudster! Ive emailed ebay but I doubt Ill get my money back.

Altho looking through the invoices it shows everyone as balance 0 bought forward 0 so again am confused how this account owes them money
