Holiday checklist *First time*

I was just wondering if there's a webpage, or possibly a checklist of things that need to be checked, or need on an international holiday? I'm going to Texas in July, and its my first time leaving the UK, so being overly paranoid, we've got passports sorted, but i'm trying to get checklists of everything together now so its all in order :)

Thankyou for any help x

  • Try this http://www.packinglistonline.com/index.php

You enter the temperature of where your going, what things you like to wear etc, and it generates a packing list that you can print out and check off. Genious!

    Fantastic, thankyou!

I've got a bag for hand luggage, just need to check size, and getting some vacuum bags, so I can pack a spare outfit for me and my other half, which won't take much space... just in case suitcases are lot or anything, going to the docs on wednesday so will ask then if I need any shots or anything, and will get things like a little pillow for the flight, flight socks, insect repellant etc :)

  • If its just the states I doubt you'd need any shots unless you've never had any shots before in your life (most have them when your young and at school). Depending on your airline you may get a pillow and blanket and given that your going long haul you'll most likely get these.

Just take twice as much money as your always need it, and half the amount of clothes, as you'll always pack too much!

Pack your `stuff` and your travelling companion(s) `stuff` equally in the available suitcases. This ensures that if one suitcase goes walkabouts everyone has something to wear.

My recommendations for long flights...bring some earplugs and also maybe an eye mask. This will make it less tiresome/stressful. also some things to do eg books, music etc. You have completed your on line security registration via the department of homeland security web page havent you?
