Hi Amjad171
If I had someone who knew my name and address, who had in their possesion a credit card in my name with their signature on, who has already used that information to obtain an orange mobile service and run up a bill of £300+ ....
And has possibly got/or is applying for more as we speak.... the details of which may not be reported to experian anyway.
I would not be waiting for that report before I did something... you must be alot more laid back about things than me!!!!!

Hi Careful_ly
I firstly tried to sign up to the online account with experian, for this I needed to send my copy of my passport or driving licence and secondly 2 utility bills, this they said would take around 7-10 working days to sort out, I need the report urgently, thats why I have applied for the £2 report that will get sent in the post to me, is there anything else I can do about this, to speed it up?
Secondly I have spoken to Natwest and they have said anybody that tries using that card will get rejected because it has been cancelled and there is a alert on it regarding possible fraud if anyone tries using this, they will be arrested, how they can do that I dont know.
I am very very worried but I honestly do not know what else I can do to speed this process up or if there is anything else I can do, if you have any suggestions I would appreciate that greatly.
Many thanks0 -

Have Natwest registered your details with CIFAS?
The problem as I see it is that some retailers will offer instant credit and take the credit card as identity, they of course know your address, so if no indicator in place of possible fraud against your address it might look okay. They wouldnt actually be using the card to pay.
This is probably what happened with Orange....
I think you need the CIFAS flag against your name/ address asap0 -
grumbler wrote:Have you reported this to police? Did you follow the link in my post #3 here?
The only reason why I havent reported it to the police is because natwest have said no one can use this card and if they do they will be arrested, other than this I know they do not have any other item of mine, like passport driving license etec. Also I was waiting for the experian report and if that had any items on there that i didnt recognise then i would take that to the police with me, should I wait another couple of days for the report or go to the police today?0 -

I have received my report from Experian today and luckily there is nothing on there that I am not aware of. Can anyone suggest what I need to do now? Do I still need to report this to the police and is it recommended I get my report freqently checked for the next few weeks?0
