Don't know why i am responding to such a blatant troll, but for other peoples benefit who may have agreed with the above statement, many people actually enjoy taking animals with them on holiday.
Well then they wouldnt be wanting to leave it locked in the room all day.:rolleyes:0 -
Spikeage, when you booked the room, were you given the option of stating that you had a pet? If not, then the problem is between the hotel, and their booking system, and they should refund your £60. If you forgot to say you had a dog, then you should forfeit the £60.
There was nothing on the website giving you the option to state that we were bringing a pet neither did it state that you had to contact the hotel if you were bringing a pet.
The hotel owner wanted us to leave our dog in the car if we were in the hotel bar or having a meal (it was beow freezing and had the website stated that it was expected that you had to leave pets in the car at mealtimes we would not have booked).
We booked the break to do some walking with our dog so had no intention of leaving him in the hotel room alone all day.0 -
As an aside I see no-one has written in their guest book (or they have chosen not to publish anything written) for over 4 years!0

You're right - if somewhere advertises a service/facility as part of it's everyday operation you shouldn't have to request special treatment in advance. If a hotel advertised itself as 'children friendly' would you expect them to ask you to leave the kids in the car (although I might be in favour of that)? Sounds like a touch of the Basil Fawlty's to me!
Suggest you take a holiday in France where dogs are welcome in bars, restaurants, and hotels - many restaurants we use actually bring a bowl of water for the dogs without being asked, and usually provide a decent size table for the 2 of us so there is plenty of room for the dogs as well (underneath, not on top!).0 -
Wanted you to leave your dog in the car?..as VIctor Meldrew would say..I don't beleeeeve it!!0

Looking quickly at this hotels last half dozen or so reviews..hmm..telltale fact that they are all by first time posters with no contribution to the forum, apart from one with the user name "ex-hotelier" who has 3 hotels reviewed in one day.
Plus a few REALLY bad reviews..
Hotels that have as few as 35 reviews should be thoroughly checked out as it is so easy to fake good reviews on there-from the hoteliers reply alone you can see how rude he is-give this "hotel" a miss..0 -
It is now illegal for businesses or their associates working on their behalf to place false reviews like this.
You could balance it up and place some reviews yourself0
