yeah tis a good deal (and not one they advertise) but i wanted the one with the speakers and cdrw.
dell have now said my credit card company has rejected transaction. Have rang mr credit and they say 'No way Hozay' no attempted transactions or rejections for you my friend.
my conclusion:- upon clicking submit your order comes out of the printer into the shredder.
You get no confirm so you email them, noone knows anything about your order and so they click the 'help I don't know what to say button'
this then does a randomise select on a credit card rejection response.
if you want the £306.68 pc suggest save a basket, ring dell and quote basket number.
orders from large business solutions site seem to be not for the little man. you must pay much wonga so big man get cheap price.0 -

I ordered the dimension 3000 on 27th November it has after much hassling of customer services and internet sales in India in Production supposed to arrive 23rd Dec 2004.Hurrah.
It took them 10 Days to find the internet order evry department was saying its lost the only reason I kept badgering them is that the day after I placed the order i rang Customer Services to find out where my Email Confirmation was and after lots of hassle spoke to someone who said there is a problem with the internet orders acceptance system and they sometimes get diverted to other parts of the compnay then binned!!! He found my order though and said he would arrange pdf as it was already in production arriving to me on 6th Dec. It wwas of course a no show so rang them only to be told no such internet order.
Tips for dealing with Dell
DONT but if you have to:-
Claim this is a dummy run order you have a order for around 100 more to place but you are first checking out their systems and customer services (this usually makes them extra nice) ;D ;D
Say it is near the end of the company financial year and the boss is bending yoiur ear as to where his new equipment is (sometimes makes them more sympathetic)
IF you get a bolshy >:( customer service helper hang up then call again none of them know what the other is doing and some are really helpful.0 -
Ordered mine on10th December. Received order confimation on 15th December with expected delivery, subject to available parts, on 24th December.
Lets hope we all receive them before Christmas!0 -
Received my PDF confirmation today - dispatch on 25th December!! Don't think I'll be getting it that day somehow.
At least it will mean my wife is in a good mood when it arrives, to help smooth the waters! You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
My latest.
The good news is I got my order confirmation.
The bad news is because they told me the order was cancelled I had ordered again.
p.s. it now comes with 512MB ram
so it seems there is a delay in ordering or they have located the lost orders now.0 -
BUM! I missed out on double memory!
And just checked status of my order to see if it was going to come on Xmas Day - says it has been dispatched!!
I only ordered it on the 14th!! Must have had a load of cancellations and they just stuck one on the van?!You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
You can still get 3 Year warranty free even though you choose 1 year, ensure the system price comes to £300 and purchase the PC with Barclaycard. Register the warranty and they will give you an additional 2 years FREE
(If the system is less than £300 you will only get 1 additional year.
Just registered mine, which is also arriving today. ;DSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
re: getting the 3 year warranty if pay by barclaycard
How do I get this. Who do you register with? Do the details come with the machine?
Looks like I may have 2 coming. I tried to cancel one but they twisted my arm.
(Also does anyone know how you transfer the warranty to someone else? I beleive this is possible with dell? PM me if not want to clutter board)0
