'Slightly Higher Interest Terminated' ....... so long as they don't deal in acronyms?

Ohh, the Halifax acronym game. I like this. How about Average Return from a Screwed-up Enterprise? Or judging by the number of people who come to me from them for their bills and such, how about Can't Undertake Normal Transactions?

It earned me a nice £100 for doing not a lot other than feeding a £1,000 in for a few months, & that's a pretty fine rate as far as i am concerned!Ethical moneysaver0

More than happy with the Halifax HICA, don’t want the interest as it makes no difference to my pocket, although I will enjoy the low AER on the overdraft and take necessary action once this is due to moved over to the pathetic £1 per day charge.

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I suppose the HICA's 15.9% interest rate on approved overdrafts is now the lowest that the Halifax charge non-students and it hasn't been pushed up like the Nationwide Flexaccount. But I would not describe 15.9% as a low AER when base rate is 1%.0

Isn't it worth keeping this account ready for when interest rates return to something normal again?0

As Halifax are phasing out existing HICAs over this year there's little prospect of the interest rate rising.0
